At just 0.9 km², Badia del Vallès is the smallest and most densely populated municipality in Spain. Designed as a „little Spain,“ with streets that replicate the map of the Iberian Peninsula, it was born marked by precariousness: poor construction, carcinogenic asbestos, and a housing allocation based on favoritism. But from adversity came struggle: thousands of residents came together to restore dignity to their town, turning it into a symbol of resistance. Today, on the verge of a change that could transform it forever, Badia faces its greatest challenge: renew itself or disappear?
The city’s future is at stake.
